About

Magnolia Megan originally came to me as a personal branding project during college in the fall of 2018.

As I was getting ready for graduation that coming spring, I never imagined what would come of this “brand” I created. I only knew that after many concepts for what a personal brand would look like, I had a good feeling about Magnolia Megan. The concept, originally used as a logo for my resume and cover letters and the design of my portfolio website, became a name and image that I represented on social media.

From the age of 4 when I told my family that God sent me here to be an artist, I didn’t know what that meant at the time. I always loved creating and sharing ideas. From photography learning on film to oil painting and ceramics, to then studing graphic design in college, I found myself diving into the digital creative space after college. I also met my now husband during my freshman year of college. After I graduated, he proposed and not long after that we moved to Houston, Texas.

Magnolia Megan blog version one failed… but the story was just getting started.

I originally started my blog website back in 2020 while working in Houston. I had no idea what I was doing at the time with my blog and I ended up shutting it down. I decided to focus on TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest instead and that’s when things began to develop. I found what I loved doing – creating and sharing experiences and places on social media. In 2021, Matthew and I got married in Cypress, Texas. Not long after that we decided to make a random move to Raleigh, North Carolina.

I have loved the Carolina’s since I was a kid when our family used to vacation to Holden Beach in the summers.

Once we moved to Raleigh in December of 2021, my social media began to take off and I was able to make it into a full time career. In November of 2022, Matthew was able to quit his commercial roofing job and join me full time – truly a surreal moment for us.

Growing up in a small town, finding fun things to do or trying new things has always been a part of who I am. It’s finally time to bring the blog website back and better than it was before. Now, living in NC with my husband and our two pets, we hope to inspire others with the content we create whether it be a new place to visit, lifestyle ideas, or bringing the experience to your home.
